WAADGA is honoured to have Kristie as our ambassador. One of the rising stars on the international woman’s professional golf circuit, Kristie has embraced the ideals of WAADGA and is proud to be involved with us.

Prior to turning professional, Kristie was a member of the Golf Australia National Squad and travelled the country, and the world, competing in amateur golf events. The West Australian is the daughter of former Australian professional golfer Wayne Smith.

She was the 2008 Australian Amateur Champion and was the low amateur in the 2008 MFS Women's Australian Open at Kingston Heath Golf Club, finishing at 1 under par in equal 5th place.

Kristie turned professional at the end of 2009, earning playing privileges on the Futures Tour in the USA. In December 2009 she also qualified for the Ladies European Tour.

She won her first tournament as a professional in January 2010 at the Canberra Ladies Classic on the ALPG Tour. She won her second pro tournament on April 11, 2010 at the Daytona Beach Invitational on the Futures Tour. To date in 2010, she finished second in the Slovak Open and tied fourth at the Swiss Open.

Kristy led the Ladies European Tour (LET) Rookie of the Year rankings in 2009 and holds 2 very impressive records on the LET, for most consecutive birdies (7) and most birdies in a round (12).
