I am a below knee amputee. I lost my leg after a beach buggy accident on Xmas day at 18 years of age.

I have been married a few times and have two lovely daughters and three grandchildren.

GOLF, to me, is one of those games that are a good form of exercise and social interaction. I have no claim to fame of winning a competition in the game, perhaps the odd Naga (the person that comes last), BUT having a good time and the banter with refreshment at the 19th HOLE is an ideal way to unwind.

I have managed to drive all forms of transport, road trains, cranes, and motor cycles, have absailed, played competition squash, enjoy scuba diving and like the odd BBQ.

I am 53 years old so that is 35 years with prosthesis, by golly they have change a lot in that time.

I am also involved in the Amputees Peer Support Programme and encourage as many amputees to get out there and be involved in the community and sports.

GOLF is a great way to enjoy the many facilities in Perth and the world, and there is a lot of support from the committee volunteers and the golfing community via WAADGA.
